The effects of aging are inevitable. Often, the brow and forehead areas show the first signs. The sun and other environmental factors, combined with gravity and time, resulting in frown lines, wrinkling across the forehead, and an increasing heaviness of the eyebrows and upper eyelids. This heaviness may create an angry or sad appearance that doesn’t reflect how you feel on inside. This procedure can help you to restore a smoother brow and a more youthful expression. As a board-certified surgeon, Dr. Zoń can help you achieve a more refreshed appearance with a brow lift. A brow lift can be performed by itself. To achieve better results is commonly performed with an eyelid lift or a facelift.

about brow lift

It is a proven plastic surgery procedure that safely and effectively: elevates drooping brows, smoothes horizontal lines of the forehead, smoothes furrows of the forehead, restores a calm, youthful appearance to the upper face. This procedure can be performed by itself, but it is commonly performed with an eyelid lift or a facelift. The procedure can be performed at any age, but most patients undergoing brow lifts are between the ages of 40 and 60. Consultation is required before your procedure to determine if you are a good candidate for a brow lift.

brow lift procedure

A brow lift involves tightening loose skin and removing any excess. As a result, forehead wrinkling and drooping brows are corrected. If necessary, dr Zoń will alter the muscle that causes vertical lines between the brows. Repositioning forehead skin may be necessary to achieve the optimal improvement in brow lift surgery, attracting attention to opened, more inviting eyes. Brow lift procedures are performed by Dr. Bartłomiej Zoń in Checinski Clinic. This procedure typically takes between 1 to 2 hours to complete.  This facial procedure is most commonly performed with local anesthesia, although general anesthesia is sometimes used e.g. browlift performed with a facelift.

recovery after brow lift

Many of my forehead patients report that they experience minimal discomfort after their procedure, however, this can be controlled with prescribed medication. Most are able to return to work after 7 to 10 days and resume strenuous activities after about a month. You will be provided with thorough aftercare instructions.

Though there are many options to reduce the signs of aging. But in many cases, the facelift is still the most effective choice for the facial rejuvenation. There are a variety of approaches available to customize the procedure for each patient. During your initial consultation with dr Zoń, you’ll discuss which technique is right for you. Whether you’d like to add eyelid surgery or another procedure to the surgical plan. For dr Zoń, natural results are paramount for each patient seeking cosmetic surgery in Warsaw. FACELIFT TECHNIQUES

Mini facelift technique

The mini lift is most often appropriate for younger patients between 35-40 and 45-50 years old. By lifting and repositioning facial skin, it can improve wrinkles in the cheeks. It has less of an effect on jowls and minimal effect on the neck.

Short scar technique

In a short scar facelift, facial muscles are lifted vertically and fixated under tension. With the foundation of facial muscles and fat restored to a more youthful position, the skin may be tightened with minimal tension. The result is a dramatic improvement with a natural-appearing result. The short scar facelift primarily improves the cheeks and jowls but also improves the neck.

Full incision technique

Patients who wait until their 50’s or older for their first facial lift may have significant folds of excess skin in the neck. For these patients, the best option is a traditional lift with full incisions to obtain maximum benefit and a natural appearing result. The sheet-like muscles that contribute to neck bands are tightened, and excess fat is removed from the neck. Facial muscles are lifted and tightened in two vectors to improve the jowls and neck. The skin is then draped with minimal tension over the rejuvenated face.

Candidates

Most candidates for a facelift are in their 40s to 60s. Mini lifts and short scar techniques are most useful in younger patients. The full incision approach is best for older patients or following weight loss when there is substantial skin laxity in the neck. Patients should stop smoking and blood pressure should be properly controlled before surgery.

Recovery

Most facelift patients take about a week off of work. Most people usually look their best 6 weeks after surgery.

Combined Surgery

For maximum rejuvenation, eyelid surgery and laser resurfacing are frequently combined with facelifts in the same operation. Chin implants and brow lifts are also complementary procedures that may be performed at the same time as a facelift.

Risks

Complications from facelifts have been uncommon in my experience. Bleeding, infection delayed healing, and nerve damage are possible. Each of these complications is treatable with quality postoperative care.
